Paul Frederick Rodney passed away July 15, 2025 at Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital. He was born September 19, 1944 in Montclair, New Jersey to William David Rodney and Mary Helen (Fassnaucht) Rodney. During his 80 years on Earth, his diligence, curiosity, and creativity led him to a wide array of experiences. In early adulthood, he worked at Olympia National Park before launching into a career that he would end as a highly respected scientist and inventor. By the time he retired, 135 patents displayed his name. His hobbies included creating fractal art, playing and listening to baroque music, studying the Bible in Greek, and teaching. He loved to study nature and dragonflies held a special place in his heart. His devotion to God was always his highest priority, and he enjoyed teaching Sunday School and taught at The Atrium for 4 years. He is survived by his wife, Arlene, his daughters Ruth Ann Cole and Karen Thacker, and 5 grandchildren. A service will be held at 2:00 pm at Champion Forest Klein Funeral Home & Memorial on Saturday, August 9, 2025 with Reverend Juan Carlos Martinez officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Woodlands Reformed Church.
