Paul Irwin Rhodes (1955-2026)

He loved flying and sailing, though in his later years sailing became more a passion of his. From deep sea fishing to participating in a regatta, Paul loved the sea and sailing in his "yacht." Paul Irwin Rhodes, 70, from Sacramento, California, passed away on June 06, 2026.

He was born in Sacramento, California in 1955 to Donald Rhodes and Merle Goodrich. He grew up with four siblings who survive him, Bruce Rhodes, Gail Melton, Carl Rhodes, and Jean Linarez. He is also survived by his spouse, Myriam Del Pilar Rhodes, two children Brian Rhodes and Clifford Rhodes, his four grandchildren, Clifford E. Rhodes, Liam Rhodes, Mila Rhodes, and Emma Rhodes, and his German Shepherd Rocket.

After completing high school where he wrestled, played football, and ran track Paul joined the Marines eventually being stationed in Iran prior to the revolution. His training and service to the country left such an impression on him as a young man that as an adult he would recruit others to join and serve in the Marines. After his service to the country he became an aviation mechanic and amateur pilot. His sons remember flying with him in small propeller planes as young children, and he would even let them "fly" under his supervision.

Eventually, he would establish his first company North Houston Starter and Alternator in Houston, Texas which would lead to the Compressor Warehouse, the company he now leaves behind. Paul loved his business, his work, and his employees. He lived for each day and each new challenge that it brought. His employees were like family to him and many of them worked for him for many years because he treated everyone fairly and with respect.

Those who knew Paul outside of the business world knew him to be a good and loyal person and friend who was laid back, would go with the flow, and liked to have a good time. He loved to sail, travel and experience the world around him. He raised two sons of whom he was very proud and would drop everything he was doing any time they would call or ask anything of him. He loved his wife, Myriam, whom he met later in life but together they built a happy home and life together. She was also the one who primarily cared for and remained by his side until losing his battle to cancer. Paul will be dearly missed by his family and friends and may you keep them in your thoughts while they greave this painful loss.
