On Friday, December 20, 2019, Paul Gene Parnham of Cypress, Texas, passed away. He was 86 years old. Paul was born on October 2, 1933, to Charles Robert and Grace Pittman-Parnham. He graduated from La Feria High School in 1951. When his sweetheart, Shirley Beth Thaxton, graduated in 1954, they were married four days later. Paul and Shirley raised four daughters, Deborah Hedrick, Denise Stacy, Deanna Poehlman, and Danette Phillips. Paul was an aviation mechanic in the U.S. Navy for 25 years, stationed most of that time in San Diego, CA. Retired in 1979 and moved to Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by Shirley, his wife of 51 years, and sister Phyllis Herren. He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Clareace Dodd-Parnham and they were members of Advent Lutheran Church. Also survived by Daughters and Sons-in-law: Deborah and William Hedrick, Denise Stacy, Deanna and Robert Poehlman, Danette and Jay Phillips. Grandchildren: Steve and Stacy Hedrick, Christie Hedrick, Richard and Tiffany Stacy, Paul Stacy, Travis Stacy, DeannaKaye and Chris Franklin, Aaron Poehlman, Austin Poehlman, Cameron Phillips, and Jessica Phillips. Great-grandchildren: Hunter Hedrick, Conner Hedrick, Madison Coursey, Cailynne Coursey, Maelynn Stacy, Lincoln Stacy, Daisy Franklin, Colt Franklin. Sister and Brother-in-law: Mary and Vernice Knight, Nieces and Nephews: Ethel and Bobby Maples, Grace and George Smith, Suzie and Tommy Wilson, Pamela and Mike Peeples, Peter Herren and many more nieces and nephews. Paul was a great-great-great Uncle. Paul, affectionally called Papaw, was the ultimate story-teller and loved to golf with family and friends, attending CFISD high school football games, playing cards or dominos, and was known most for his incredible kindness.
