PAUL ALLAN MITCHELL was born in Houston, Texas, February 24, 1939 and passed away on February 25, 2018 after a long and valiant struggle with Leukemia (AML).  He was preceded in death by his parents Lon and Bertie Mitchell , sister Doris Vandel Smith and brother Ralph Leon Mitchell.   He is survived by his wife Sandra, sons Michael and wife Jill, Larry and wife Michele.  Grandchildren Michael Taylor, William Trevor and Morgan Elizabeth Mitchell and Leah D'Ann Wilson.  Great-grandchildren Tyler, Thomas and Gracie.  Sister-in-Law Barbara Mitchell, and many nieces and nephews.

Paul spent his high school years in Medina, TX .  He loved the hill country and the small town where he and Sandra were high school sweethearts.  After graduation, Paul enrolled in Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa.  When he returned to Texas, he and Sandra were married  August 22, 1959.  They shared 58 years together making wonderful memories traveling, cruising and spending lots of time with family and friends.  Paul was a proud Pawpaw to his grandchildren and great grandchildren

Paul loved his ranch in Giddings.  He would spend as much time there as possible with family, friends and his special group called the Old Geezers.  There was never a job too big for Paul.  He amazed everyone with his hard work and determination.

Paul's had a distinguished career working for over 45 years in credit unions.  He was a mentor to many fellow credit union managers.  Paul served as President of the Houston Chapter of Credit Unions, Chairman of Members Insurance, Town North Bank and the Texas Credit Union League.  He also served as a national director for NCUA.  In 2004 Paul was greatly honored to be  inducted into the Texas Credit Union Hall of Fame.

The family wishes to thank all of the friends and medical staff at the MD Anderson Katy Clinic for their constant support and encouragement during his illness.
