In Loving Memory of Paul Franklin Jones

Heaven welcomed an extraordinary soul, Paul Franklin Jones, into its embrace on Saturday, March 2nd, at 8:41 am. Surrounded by his cherished loved ones, Paul departed peacefully after a brief illness, entering the presence of the Lord.

Born on August 6th, 1959, in Houston, Texas, to Robert and Dolores Jones, Paul's family relocated to Ennis, Texas, when he was nine. Paul graduated from EHS in 1977, marking the beginning of a life that would touch many hearts.

Following graduation, he returned to Houston, where he commenced his career in banking. However, in 1979, he embarked on a distinguished 41-year journey with Union Pacific Railroad, climbing the ranks from an entry-level clerk to retiring as an Officer in March 2020. Paul's career took him and his family from Houston to Los Angeles, Vancouver, El Paso, Baton Rouge, and eventually back to his Houston roots.

Paul's retirement ushered in a chapter of joyous living. His passion for golf flourished, and he spent countless hours at Tomball Country Club, playing with his buddies nearly six days a week.

A love story for the ages began when Paul met Judy "Lisa" Elliston. They exchanged vows on April 18th, 1981, and their nearly 43-year marriage was a testament to their unwavering bond. Together, they navigated life's adventures, raising three children and welcoming nine grandchildren, with one more on the way.

Family was Paul's cornerstone. He dedicated his life to caring for his wife, children, and grandchildren. His wife, his confidante; his children, the lights of his eyes; and his grandchildren, the sweetest joy. As "Papa," he spoiled them with endless snacks and unforgettable pool days. His golf cart rides around the neighborhood brought smiles, and family gatherings showcased his newfound love for cooking.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Dolores Jones; paternal grandparents, CC and Lois Jones; maternal grandparents, Jessie and Bessie Franklin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Johnnie Elliston; and nephew, Nathan Jones.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Judy "Lisa" Jones; daughters Jana Patrick (Kenny), Chelsea Earhart (Josh); son Brandon Jones (Mandi); and cherished grandchildren: Asher, LolaBelle, Ruby, Abigail, Avalee, Alivia, Axel, Johnny Paul, Elizabeth, and one on the way. Paul is also survived by his brother Terry Jones (Gayle) and sister Lisa Jones (Cheryl).
