PAUL EUGENE FOWLER
1939 - 2018
Paul Fowler, 79, went to meet his Savior Lord Jesus in Heaven on July 27, 2018 after his battle with Alzheimer's and Congestive Heart Failure. He was a native Houstonian and lived in the Houston area all his life. He was born on June 22, 1939. Paul graduated from Aldine High School in 1957 and then from Sam Houston State University in 1961 with a degree in Business Administration. It was in his first class at Sam Houston that he met the love of his life, Charlotte Lake, whom he married 2 years later. Together they built a family of which he was very proud.
Paul was engaged in the oil business for 40 years as a crude oil buyer and trader. He was employed by Marathon Oil Company, Texaco Trading & Transportation Company which later became Chevron and Genesis Crude Oil Company.
Paul was funny, smart and incredibly caring. He will be missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him. He made friends wherever he went and was voted "Friendliest Senior" in high school. He and Charlotte formed many close friends throughout their married life. He was a faithful church member of Champion Forest Baptist Church and especially loved the friends in the Mountain Climbers Life Group there. He and Charlotte formed a friendship with 7 couples of Charlotte's Milby High School class and enjoyed many great meals together for the past 30 years. Paul and Charlotte formed a special friendship over 50 years ago with 2 couples, Donnie & Maxine McBee and Gerry & Bertha Fincher who have remained life-long special friends.
Paul was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2008 and has been in a Memory Care Facility for the past 3-1/2 years, the last of which was Sycamore Creek Ranch Memory Care.
The family would like to thank Alma Ceballos for her loving care of Paul for 4 years while he was residing in his home before he went into a Memory Care Facility. They would also like to thank the staff of Sycamore Creek Ranch Memory Care for the love, respect and professionalism they showed Paul and the family which made the journey bearable until he could find peace at the end.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte, of nearly 59 years, son, Greg and wife, Marilyn and daughter, Debbie Pennington and husband, Jerry. He had 4 grandchildren, Rachel Bassett, Josh Pennington and wife, Denise, Jacob Fowler and Jon Pennington and wife, Summer.
