Obituary

Paul J. Coselli (1950 – 2026)

With deep love and admiration, we celebrate the life of Paul J. Coselli, who passed away on March 28, 2026, at the age of 75, with his family by his side. He fought his final illness with strength, hope, and determination—until he couldn't.

Paul, a native Houstonian, was born on October 13, 1950, to loving parents, Frank and Josephine Coselli. He was the second of four boys. He was a force: a natural athlete and fierce competitor, a quick wit and sharp tongue, and a persuasive voice, balanced with a tender heart, a natural sense of fairness, and a determination to stand up for others—traits that would shape who he was—a son, brother, husband, father and grandfather, friend, and advocate.

Paul attended Marquette University and University of Houston, joining Phi Kappa Theta fraternity forging life-long friendships. He earned his law degree from South Texas College of Law. He loved the law, especially the court room. He loved saying he was a "trial attorney," where he zealously advocated and championed for justice as well as the underdog. He would say that our justice system wasn't perfect, but it was the best in the world. He was curious, saying there are always at least "2 sides to every story." He was proud to be part of the legal profession and passed this love down to his daughter, Ashley, who also attended South Texas College of Law. Every case and every client were important. The law was not only his career, but it was also his passion, and his favorite hobby.

When not practicing law, Paul was an avid sports fan. He was a season ticket holder to both the Houston Astros and the U of H football team. He rarely missed a game, whether in-person or on television. His fandom expanded to Ole Miss, where his son, P.J., followed in his footsteps and competed as a D1 collegiate track athlete, throwing shotput and discus, just like he did at Marquette University.

The only thing he loved more than the law and sports was his family. Paul was warm, witty, and generous. While he loved his wife and his kids immensely, once his grandchildren were born, they immediately became the center of his world. He was so proud to become grandfather. So much so that his coworkers threw him a baby shower. He was a loving and doting grandfather. His grandchildren, Benjamin, Lucca, and Giuliana, meant so much to him, as he strived to be involved in all parts of their lives - homework, sports, dance recitals, chauffeuring them around in his classic car, and so much more.

Paul is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Coselli; his daughter, Ashley Coselli, and son, Paul J. "P.J." Coselli Jr.; his son-in-law, Kevin Langford, and daughter-in-law, Jennie Coselli; his amazing grandchildren, Benjamin Langford, Lucca Coselli, and Giuliana Coselli; his 3 brothers, Ralph, Raymond, and Frank, as well as an incredible circle of friends and colleagues who will carry forward his legacy. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Coselli, and his mother, Josephine Musachia Coselli.

A Visitation and Vigil will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Klein Funeral Home – Cy Fair Northwest. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with a reception to follow.
