Paul R. Cauthron, age 79, a resident of Tomball, Texas, went to be with our Lord on March 12, 2019.
He was born April 2, 1939 in Booneville, Arkansas to parents John and Arlene Cauthron and later lived in Texarkana, Arkansas where he attended school. During his high school years, his family moved to Pittsburg, Texas.
Paul graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1956. After attending East Texas Baptist College and East Texas State University, he joined the Navy in 1962 and served his country in the Naval Air Reserves. Paul worked for Ekco Housewares Manufacturing Company for over 10 years and then became an independent sales manufacturer's representative until retirement in 2009.
For 43 years he was a member of the Barbershop Harmony Society and sang with the Houston Chapter, Big D Chapter in Dallas, Texas, Spring Chapter in Spring, Texas, and is a current member of the Houston Tidelanders Chorus in Houston, Texas. He sang baritone in numerous quartets and was especially proud of The Grumpy Old Men Quartet.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Arlene Cauthron. Paul is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen Cauthron; daughter, Melissa Talton and son-in-law, James Talton;
son, David Cauthron and daughter-in-law, Rebecca Cauthron; sister, Sherry McCray and brother, John H. Cauthron and wife, Terri. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Hannah Talton, Hope Talton, Jameson Talton, Juliana Simonflavi and Shaun Cauthron; and nieces, Jeannie Kipp and family, Stephanie Boozer and husband Kent and family, and Heather Perrin and husband Dan and family.
A graveside service, under the direction of the Klein Magnolia Funeral Home, will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, March 22 at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038 and a Memorial Service will be held at the Lakewood United Methodist Church, 11330 Louetta Road, Houston, Texas 77070 at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 22, 2019, with Associate Minister, Trish Woodruff officiating. A reception will follow the service at the church.
