Patsy Joann Helms Rush was born March 11, 1938 in Whitney, TX to Chester Ray and Lois Helms. She passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 in Houston, TX. Joann was a housewife. She loved to cook, she also loved her flowers. She often bought plants for her yard. Her favorite thing to do was decorate her house. She also loved to have family gatherings with all her family. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas. I guess you can say she loved watching the kids open gifts. Her grandkids were really special to her. Joann also loved her music, often she would dress up and just go sit and listen to music (frogs). She really loved frogs. She had many, from singing, dancing, to plenty of stuffed ones. That's one way we always knew how to make her smile.

Joann is preceded in death by sons David Wylie and Mike Wylie; brother Billy Ray Helms and nephew Jeff Helms.

Joann is survived by son Thomas Wylie; daughter Patricia Wiley; brother Jerry Helms; daughter-in-law Julie Wylie; grandsons Jimmie Wiley, Jason Stenmark, Kyle Stenmark, William Michael Wylie, Doug Wylie, Brian Wylie and wife Samantha; granddaughters Kelly Wylie, Christe Ellis and husband Kevin, Jennifer Lato; 12 great-grandchildren and many more family and friends that will truly miss her.
