As a child, Patsy Pride Shadle Fleming was a member of the campfire girls.  She and her little brother Ross also assisted the Red Cross war effort for WWII by collecting glass bottles, cans and scrap metal. At the age of  nine Patsy also knitted scarves and sweaters for the troops. Patsy attended Eastern New Mexico University on a music scholarship. She was in band, studied piano and voice. While there Patsy met her husband and "soul mate" Charles Fleming. They married on June 30th, 1950. Patsy traveled the world with Charles. Patsy was an incredibly strong soul; she survived breast cancer, and helped to teach people with a handicap how to swim. She volunteered with HCEC as an EMT-I for many years and was also the HCEC comptroller. Patsy loved all 9 of her grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was an expert seamstress, embroiderer, crocheter and knitter. Patsy won awards with her work. Most recently she began making and donating small blankets and dolls to Texas Children's Hospital. Patsy was a devout Christian and loved the Lord and Jesus.  She will be greatly missed.
