Patrick Albert Ramsey

1951 - 2021

Patrick was born 30 September 1951 in Fort Sill Oklahoma to Hugh Arthur Ramsey and Patty Jean Beckett Ramsey.  He spent 25 years as a paramedic/firefighter before he retired and went on to work in IT.  He retired from IT in 2015.

Patrick met Tracey Lynn Satterly on 18 October 1983 and they were married two years plus one day later on 19 October 1985.  Patrick and Tracey have one son, Shawn Patrick Ramsey, one daughter in law Megan Dawn Smith Ramsey, and two amazing grandchildren Logan Patrick Ramsey and Rebecca Rose Ramsey.  He was so excited to become a grandpa that he had his grandpa named picked out long before his grandkids were born. Patrick is a kind, loving, devoted husband, father, and Pops who always put his family first.

Patrick is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  He held many callings through the years including Boy Scout leader, Family History Counselor, teacher for the five year old class, and IT for church events.  He was an avid ham radio operator.  He used his ham radio skills to give even more community service after hurricanes and community events.

Patrick lived a lifetime of service and was most proud of his years as a paramedic/firefighter.   After working as a volunteer firefighter for Timber Lakes Volunteer Fire Department, Patrick helped to establish the first ambulance service in Montgomery County.  He also served many years helping children caught up in the court systems by volunteering to be a CASA child advocate. After retirement Patrick became an occasional substitute teacher.  He especially loved working with junior high special needs children.

Patrick became a published author after his retirement.  He wrote a book of true short stories of his years he spent as a paramedic.  No matter where we went in Grimes and Montgomery Counties, Patrick could always point out different places where he had made a call as a paramedic or firefighter.

Patrick is survived by two brothers, Phillip Lee Ramsey, and Donald Neil Ramsey as well as one sister Sharron Anna Ramsey.  Patrick was preceded in death by his parents as well as one brother, David Hugh Ramsey.
