Theo Patricia Callahan Story passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025 in her home. Her heavenly homecoming began just hours before her 92nd birthday.

Best known as Pat by family and friends, she was affectionately called Mimi by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Pat was born on October 23, 1933 in Houston, Texas as the only child of Earl and Era Callahan. With a deep love for Texas and its rich heritage, she resided in Houston her entire life. A 1951 graduate of Reagan High School, she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Sam Houston Teachers College in Huntsville. Pat also acquired her Master's degree in Education from Sam Houston with certificates in Administration and Counseling. She and her husband, Joe Story, raised two children, Sherry Rampy and Mark Story.

Pat loved spending time with her devoted family and friends, especially her great grandchildren. She greatly valued Bible Study and church involvement, particularly as a founding member of Faithbridge Methodist and a longtime member of Lakewood Methodist Church. She formed deep friendships within her Women of the Word (WOW) Sunday School class before health issues limited her attendance. She also enjoyed time spent on porches overlooking lakes, researching and exploring her family genealogy, planting seasonal flowers, and reading historical novels.

Pat's career in education began as an elementary school teacher in Houston ISD, followed by time in Spring Branch ISD and Cy-Fair ISD, where she served for the majority of her career. She also worked as an Assistant Principal, but found her passion as an elementary counselor. She faithfully counseled children for decades until retirement at age 72. Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Elton Story (d.1987), and great grandson, Knox Hudson Story (d.2022).

Mimi is survived by 3 generations of her beloved children, grandchildren, great grandchildren. Her daughter is Sharon (Sherry) Rampy and husband Cliff Rampy, and her son is Mark Story and wife Susan Story. Her grandchildren include: Sarah Rampy Hensley & husband Jon Hensley, Blake Rampy & wife Blaire Rampy, Joshua McNeely, Scott Story & wife Kimberley Story, Tyler Story & wife Ali Story, and Sean Story. Her great grandchildren include: Ellyson, Mason, and Lydia Hensley, Mary Louise and Brooks Rampy, Jack and Claire Story, and Palmer and Chloe Story.

A private family burial took place at North Creek Cemetery in Leon County, alongside her husband.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Lakewood Methodist Church on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 10:30am (11330 Louetta Road; Houston, TX 77070).

Contributions in her memory may be made to Lakewood Methodist Church or Samaritan's Purse International Relief .
