Obituary

Patricia Ann Norman Risinger, devoted daughter, mom, and grandmother, was born on September 29, 1955 at Hillcrest Hospital Waco Texas to Benjamin Thomas Norman and Dollie Lois Wyatt Norman.  She passed into the arms of her loving Savior on April 26, 2023.
After graduating from Justin F. Kimball High School in Dallas, Texas in 1973, she went on to attend and graduate from Baylor University with a Bachelor in Science degree in elementary education.
Pat dreamed of becoming a teacher ever since she was a little girl.  In fact, she could be found playing school in the family garage with her dolls and stuffed animals.  Her first job was teaching sixth grade for Grand Prairie ISD.  The following four years she taught third grade.  After a brief time of being a stay-at-home mom, she returned to Grand Prairie where she continued to teach for five more years.  In 1996, Pat and her children moved to Pearland, Texas, where she accepted a position teaching third grade for Alvin ISD.  After extensive graduate work at Lesley University in Boston, she became a Literacy Coach teaching and mentoring other teachers. In 2010, she moved to Red Oak, Texas, where she finished her 33 years in education as a Literacy Coordinator for Red Oak ISD.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Pat.  She loved spending time with family.  Those that called her Mom or Grandma especially warmed her heart.  She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities of reading and studying her Bible, working puzzles, knitting, and/or making another quilt for someone.
As a child, Pat grew up attending Calvert Baptist Church and was baptized on January 17,1965 by Rev. Herbet Yount.  She grew up active in Girls Auxiliary, Vacation Bible School, choir, and Girl Scouts.
Pat was preceded in death by her mother, Dollie Lois Wyatt Norman.
Survivors include her father, Benjamin Thomas Norman; her children, Aaron Risinger (Vicki) and daughter Rachel Grajeda (Daniel); her grandchildren, Caleb, Hayden, and Asher Risinger; and her siblings, Pamela Sue Norman Boyd and Samuel Thomas Norman.
Matthew 10:28-31 "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul.  Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.  Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father's care.  And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.  So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."
Lamentations 3:22-23 "Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail.  They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."
Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with Thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
