Patricia Cannon Jones

Born on March 27, 1931 to Mrs. Elizabeth French Cannon and Mr. Charles Edward Cannon in Akron, Ohio.

Passed away September 14, 2016 surrounded by her loving family and Pastor Dustin Nelson, in Spring, Texas

Patricia is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Edward Cannon and Elizabeth French Cannon; her brother, Donald F. Cannon, of Akron, Ohio; and her husband, Darrell D. Jones. She is survived in life by her daughters, Leigh Faissal, Darriane H. Jones, and Patricia E. Jones; her grandchildren, Edward Ellis and Alexander Faissal; and many more extended family and loving friends.

She graduated in 1953 from the University of Alabama, where she was an active member of the Alpha Delta Phi Sorority and a true southern belle. Patty married the love of her life, Mr. Darrell D. Jones, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, on January 19, 1957 in Biloxi, Mississippi. She worked as a secretary and he was an engineer for National Supply Co. The couple's three beautiful girls were born in New Orleans, Louisiana before the family moved to Houston, Texas in 1972. Patty worked as an Executive Administrative Assistant at the Heights Multiservice Center for the City of Houston Department of Health and Human Services, where she made many lifelong friends and truly enjoyed helping the underprivileged in the community. She loved sweep staking, mystery novels, talking politics, and spending time with her family and loved ones, especially her animals; Mama Rita, Petey, and Coop. The last several years of her life, Patty enjoyed eating lunch and gossiping with her new friends; Jane, Betty, and Polly.

The family would especially like to thank the doctors and caregivers who watched over MaMa during her last years with us: Dr Ali J. Marian, Dr. Hue-Teh Shih, Dr. Lily Tan, Dr. Randall Walker, Olimpia Agundis, George Rausche, Mary East, Cassandra McMillan, Verna Hill, and Kenyatta Holmes.

Visitation is Friday, September 23, 2016, from 6-8 pm at Klein Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Patricia Jones will be Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 2pm at Fellowship of Champions Church. Internment will follow immediately after at Klein Memorial Park, FM 2920.
