Patricia Gibbons Franks, 85 years old of The Woodlands, Texas passed from this life on December 12, 2024. She was born on July 31, 1939 to Robert James Gibbons and Janice Teal Gibbons in Detroit, Michigan.

Patricia's family moved to Sheffield, Alabama when she was just a young girl. It was here where she met the love of her life, Jon Guy Franks when they were both in middle school. Patricia and Jon graduated from Sheffield High School and together went on to attend the University of Alabama. Patricia graduated in three years, receiving a Bachelor of Education. On August 13, 1960 they married, while Jon was still in school. On November 30, 1961 they had their first daughter, Wendy. Shortly after Jon graduated, they moved to Florida, where they continued to grow their family. On February 12, 1964 they had another daughter Jill and on April 5, 1965 they had their daughter Missy. Several years later the family moved to Houston, Texas where they met many life-long friends. Patricia became great at packing up their home as Jon's career took them to many different cities and states. They eventually settled back in Houston, Texas in 1983. It was there where Patricia went back to her passion of teaching, and became a Director of a Montessori school for many years.

Patricia was active in her church, enjoyed volunteering, and loved to cook and shop. Her famous cheese straws were a must have at family events, especially during the holidays. She loved her family and was the best Honey to her four grandchildren; Garrett, Lauren, Alyssa and Landon and her six great grandchildren; Brantley, Emma, Jaxon, Jack, Piper and Grayden.

Those left to cherish her memories are h er daughter, Wendy Sousa and husband Carl from Montgomery, Texas, her granddaughter Lauren Wolford and husband Tyler from Prosper, Texas and their two children Jack and Piper and her grandson Landon Sousa and wife Bailey from Burbank, California.

Her daughter Jill Valentine and husband Kenny from Waller, Texas

Her daughter Missy Shuman and husband Tom from Plano, Texas her grandson Garrett Shuman and wife Heather from Melissa, Texas and their children Brantley, Emma, and Jaxon and her granddaughter Alyssa Moulthrop and husband Benjamin from Tomball, Texas and their son Grayden

Her sister Sarah Coll from Lynchburg, Virginia

Her aunt, JoAnn Brown from Marion, Indiana

Her sister-in-law, Didi Franks from Florence, Alabama

Her sister-in-law Alma Franks from Nashville, Tennessee

A memorial celebrating Patricia's life will be held Friday, December 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Woodlands Community Presbyterian Church located at 4881 West Panther Creek Drive The Woodlands, Texas 77381. An urn committal will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Klein Memorial Park 2920.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to New Danville in honor of Patricia Franks.
