Patricia Karen Ferdinand went to be with Jesus on May 14, 2022 after a short and fierce battle with cancer.  Pat was a wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma ("Guggs"), plant-lover, avid reader, and prayer-warrior. She loved the Astros, almost as much as she loved Jesus. Pat loved being the "nice" one and everyone always commented on her kindness to everybody, everywhere. She loved food of every kind, especially chocolate and she made the best lasagna ever.

Pat was born in Fairfield, Connecticut on April 9, 1951 to Edmund and Loretta Dietrich and was the oldest sibling to sister, Laurie and brother, Joe. She later met her husband Michael during sophomore year of high school at Andrew Ward high School in Fairfield. They married on June 20, 1970 and were just shy of celebrating their 50th anniversary when Mike passed. They had two beautiful daughters, Jennie and Julie. Pat graduated with a degree from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. Mike and Pat moved to Saint Louis and then on to Texas where they made a permanent home and became part of "The Wild Moss Bunch", creating deep and rich friendships that last to this day. Pat worked at Houston Northwest Hospital as a medical technologist for 35 years. She loved her job, but she loved her work friends as much as her job.

One of her favorite things to do was spend time with her grandchildren. "Guggs House" never heard the word "no" and everything there was full of love and fun. She attended all of the sporting events, band concerts, dance recitals, and school activities she possibly could. Her grandbabies were absolute pride and joy. Her second favorite pastime was creating the Garden of Eden in her backyard. Pat had the greenest thumb of the family. She grew many plants from seed, transplanted them from home to home, and especially loved plumeria and roses of all varieties. She loved spending time in her oasis, feeding the birds, drinking her cup of coffee, praying and reading her bible. We are certain she is currently tending the gardens of heaven, after she surprised her husband Mike by showing up way too early.

Pat was always more concerned about the happiness of others more than what made her happy; she had a servant's heart. Pat had a deep faith and never questioned God's plan. She firmly believed God could and would heal her from cancer. No one prayed more than she did. Pat treasured God's word and shared His saving grace with everyone she knew. She led Bible studies, served as a Sunday school teacher, and was a student of God's word. Some of her favorite scriptures included Psalm 23, Hebrews 10:35-36, Psalm 40:13, and especially Psalm 27:13-14 that states, "I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!"

Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Mike Ferdinand and her parents, Edmund and Loretta Dietrich.  She is survived by her children, Jennie, Julie and son-in-law Tommy, grandchildren Mayra, Junior, Will, Andrew, Reid, Austin, Ansley, Sage, and Crew, great grandson, Alex and many other friends and family members.

Services to celebrate Pat's life will take place at The Ark Church in Conroe, Texas on Thursday, May 19 at 11 am.
