Patricia H. Bredewater, 80, of Houston, TX passed away unexpectedly Tuesday January 4, 2022 in her home. She was born November 25, 1941 in Terre Haute, IN to Crede G. Fitzpatrick and Lucille Joab Fitzpatrick. She graduated from Concannon High School in West Terre Haute, IN in 1959. She received her bachelors degree in education in 1963 and later her masters degree in 1966 both from Indiana State University. She married Robert Bredewater on July 8, 1972 and he preceded her in death on July 8, 2007 after thirty five years of marriage. They truly were soul mates. They enjoyed traveling and relocated several times over the years with Bob's occupation in carbide sales. Pat was a high school english teacher and taught many years at both Indianapolis and California and lastly in Houston. She taught at Aldine High School from 1983 to 1990 and later at Klein Forest High School from which she retired in 2006. She devoted her life to teaching and her students. She considered it one of her greatest achievements to have a positive impact on her students lives. For thirty years Pat walked the neighborhood of Old Bridge Lake where she lived. Every day she would walk up and down every street and stop and chat with all the neighbors. She knew everybody and everybody knew her. Pat was always upbeat and happy so you felt good after talking to her. She was a good neighbor always offering to pick up newspapers, mail, or water plants when neighbors were out of town. There are no words to express how much Pat will be missed in Old Bridge Lake. Survivors include: her sister-in-law Cheryl Fitzpatrick of West Terre Haute; nieces and nephews Roxanne Vary (Al) of Iowa and their children Allison and Weldon, Creded Fitzpatrick, Judy Fitzpatrick, and John Fitzpatrick (Tammy) and their children Blake, Bailey, and Braylon Fitzpatrick all of West Terre Haute; extended family members being the Joab, Sullivan, and Witty families; as well as a host of close friends and teaching associates with whom she remained very active with. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Tom Fitzpatrick. A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday in Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champions Forest, Klein, TX. Visitation will be 12:00 noon until service time. Burial will be at a later date in Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute.
