Obituary

On March 9th. 1950 in Vacherie, Louisiana, Wilbert and Gustavia Stewart were blessed with a precious baby girl whom was born and given the name Patricia Ann Stewart.  She was one of eight children.  At the age of 2 Patricia's family moved to Houston, TX.  She attended school in Studewood where she graduated in 1968 from Booker T. Washington High.  She attended Houston Baptist University where she majored in music.

During her adult years Patricia met  Kerry Smith Jr.. Their story began with a smile and Patricia nearly dropping  Icee's  and Kerry asking if she needed help.  Not too long after that Patricia being subdued by Kerry's smile their marital bliss started on November 29, 1969. They moved to Los Angeles California where they had 4 children (1 preceded in death) . Patricia worked as a bank teller and postal worker but found her true professional calling as a Real Estate/Mortgage Broker.  She was a top producer in California for years.  Later on she moved that knowledge of expertise to Houston Texas where she owned and operated "Serenity Mortgage Service".   Patricia along with her children, other family members, and friends at her side, ran the office.  She loved her family and liked nothing more than spending time when she could. Due to her passion for what she did Patricia retired nearly 3 times.  She just could not cease doing what she loved.  Her legacy continued by print with Patricia writing a book called "The Path That Leads Home" by Patricia Stewart Smith.

Patricia also had a talent of playing the piano.  She put her all into everything she did. Making the piano sing she was the "Minister of Music" at Saint John Community Baptist Church in Pearland under Reverend Lawrence J. Stewart.  Patricia accepted Christ at an early as her personal Lord and Savior.  She was baptized in her early years.  The love of Christ could be seen through her.  Words could not express the love she showed to each who came in contact with her.   Patricia had a genuine peace, love, and passion about people.  She will forever be a testimony of true strength and never-ending faithfulness in this journey of life.  Patricia Smith as stated over and over that she loved the Lord with all of her heart and acknowledged Him in all she did.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wilbert Stewart Sr., mother, Gustavia Stewart, sister, Josephine Miller Stewart, husband, Kerry Smith Jr. son, Kerry Shawn Smith, and grandchildren, Bryce A. Smith and Tatiyana L. Smith
