Patrice Yvonne Atkins passed away peacefully on March 12th, 2023, with the love and support of her family.

Patrice was born September 26th, 1944 in Westmorland, Jamaica to Hilda Ricketts. She loved growing up with the sun, ocean waves, and playing in the country with her sisters, Enid and Daphne, and her cousins.

She led a full life, spending time in Jamaica, California, and Florida, before settling in Houston, TX.  She had three children, son Brian Polley, and daughters Trudi Mathis and Stacey Atkins.  She worked in banking, as a professional chef, and as a devoted employee to Macy's, from where she retired in 2020 with over 35 years of service.  She was a devoted caregiver, and took especially great joy in being a GiGi to beloved grandchildren Denim and Zoe.  When not spending time with family, Patrice enjoyed music, crossword puzzles, enjoyed watching classic movies, television and sports.

Patrice is survived by her children, son Brian Polley and his partner Patricia Drake, daughter Trudi Mathis, her husband Brian Mathis and their two children Denim and Zoe, and daughter Stacey Atkins; Sisters Enid Haye and Daphne Atkins.  She is preceded in death by her mother Hilda Ricketts.
