Palmyre "Polly" LaCombe Stelchek

Preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Stelchek; son, Bob Stelchek; parents, Gertrude and Stephen LaCombe; siblings, Stephen LaCombe, Mary Lou Schneider, and William LaCombe.

Polly and Chuck married in 1948. They moved from Kenosha in 1957 with five young children to Denison, Texas, where her sixth child was born. There she was active in St. Patrick's Catholic Church and St. Xavier School, which her children attended. In 1976 Chuck was transferred to Green Cove Springs, Florida. They made their home in Orange Park where she made enduring friendships at St. Catherine's Catholic Church. Chuck's transfer in 1983 meant returning to Denison. Upon his retirement in 1989 Polly and Chuck moved to Houston, Texas to be near children and grandchildren. Polly insisted on finding a home close to Prince of Peace Catholic Community where she made many dear friends. After Chuck's passing in 1994, Prince of Peace became the center of her activities, including Keenagers, working on prayer blankets, providing food for events, traveling, and serving on various committees.
