The sweetest Angel on earth gained her eternal wings on Sunday, December 31, 2023. Jesus welcomed Oma Wilma Ellis as she joined Mom, Dad and Bubba and many others for a spectacular Heavenly Bluegrass celebration.

Wilma was born on November 11, 1966, to Omer & Mary Ellis, in Jacinto City, TX. She grew to be the stinker of the family and earned the nickname "Bug" for a reason, like the time she came in from the backyard carrying a lizard and chased her Mom and sister out the front door, laughing the whole way.

Wilma loved to "go". Growing up, she was active in the Special Olympics…bowling, track & field and gymnastics. She even performed her tumbling routine on ABC13 TV to the tune of the Houston Oilers song Luv Ya Blue!

Wilma loved music, especially Bluegrass music. She loved to go with the family in their travel trailer to their favorite bluegrass festivals. She loved Bill Monroe but her heart belonged to The Saltgrass Band. Jim Lowery and John Brockett were her "friends" and they brought her many smiles and fun times when they played her favorite songs.

Wilma always had a happy heart and her smile was contagious. She leaves behind many lives that she touched with her sweet, loving spirit. Her family would like to thank all that helped make Wilma's life a happy one. Preceded in death are her parents, Omer & Mary Ellis and brother, Jerry (Bubba) Wilson. She leaves behind her sisters, Beth Kellett and Natalie Cramer (Scott); niece Stephanie Hahn (Andrew), nephews Stephen Mitchell, Hunter Cramer and Conner Cramer; great nieces Riley and Lily Hahn and dear family friends Barbara & Frosty Hickam and Curtis & Vickie Ferguson.

Wilma's ashes will be laid to rest at the Old Waverly family cemetery sometime in March.
