Olga L. Phipps passed away Friday November 13, 2020 at the age of 84. Olga attended Fox Tech High School. Olga loved her family and was loved by many. Because of this, she will be remembered as a great friend and family member. Her heart filled with joy each time she could make others happy. Olga always made certain that no one ever felt left out and was a "Mom" to many in the neighborhood and the local skating rink. She loved to attend USO dances on weekends. She loved fishing and crafts that included ceramics and crocheting. Many of these crafts are still cherished by family members today. She also loved cooking for others and bringing a smile to all with her delicious dishes. Above all, Olga should be remembered as an amazingly strong fighter. She raised a special needs child for 17 years. She courageously fought cancer three times and never let it change her outlook on life. She is an incredible inspiration to those who were lucky enough to know her.
Olga was preceded in death by her parents Victoria and Alberto; daughter Jeannie; great granddaughter Daisy; sister Eloise; aunts and uncles Jose, Filiberto, Gustavo, and Gloria; niece Norma and nephew Rudy.
Olga is survived by children Steve, Felicia, Kenneth Jr. and wife Gina; grandchildren Corey and wife Maribel, Justin and wife Erica, Victoria and partner Zachary, Bianca, Kenneth III, Steven, Isaiah, and Jack; great grandchildren Philomena, Peter, Zayden, Jose and Amalie Rose; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to thank Encompass Health, Omega Life Hospice of Texas, and her loving neighbors for the care and compassion that they have shown.
Donations can be made to the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation or M.D. Anderson Cancer Center on her behalf.
