Obituary

With deep love and gratitude for a life so graciously lived, we announce that Normand Richard Roux, age 90, returned to our Heavenly Father on May 29th, 2026 at his home in Spring, Texas.  He was born on July 21, 1935 in Lewiston, Maine.  Norm will be remembered as a devoted son, father, grandfather, and friend whose kindness, generosity, and loving personality deeply touched everyone who knew him.

Norm grew up in Lewiston, Maine.  He attended Lewiston High School and received a Chemical Engineering degree from The University of Maine.  Immediately after graduation, he developed his talents and flourished within the Exxon Chemical Company, and after 36 years, retired as Vice President.  During that time, he also proudly served his country in the United States Navy for two years.  On October 24, 1959 he married his wife and best friend, Marilyn Joan Noe.  They were married for 58 years until Marilyn's death in July, 2018.

Norm truly loved traveling.  He and Marilyn enjoyed many cruises together, where they were able to visit beautiful locations throughout the world.  They escaped the Texas heat together for many summers by visiting their favorite spot, Ruidoso, New Mexico.  Norm was an avid golfer, playing with his "regular" foursome most Saturdays.  In his younger days, Norm was a musician playing clarinet and saxophone in a local band in Maine.  Affectionately known as Poppy, he valued his time with family above all else.  He was most proud of meeting his 3 great-grandsons.

Norm is survived by his daughter, Kathy Musslewhite and her husband Don; grandchildren Courtney Gosda and husband Regis, and Kevin Graff and wife Julia; great-grandchildren Parker and Benjamin Gosda, and Jack Graff, all of whom live in Houston, Texas.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marilyn Roux; his son Scott Roux; his biological father Robert Roux, and his mother and stepfather Gertrude and John Hucaluk.

Poppy's sense of humor, passion for life, and love for others will forever be missed.  Friends and family are invited to share in the celebration of Norm's life.  A funeral mass will be offered at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 4 at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 7810 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, Texas 77379 with a viewing at 10:15 a.m.  A reception at the church will follow.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church.
