Norma Jeanne Smith Corson was born in Spiro, OK on July 24, 1926 to Robert Fuller and Atha Lillian Smith.  Jeanne was an only child and grew up in Muskogee OK graduating from Central High School where she was a popular singer and band queen.  On her father's side her heritage was Native American to include Choctaw and Cherokee bloodlines.  Her great great grandmother Eliza LeFlore, namesake of LeFlore County, named  Jeanne "Yahokta" when Jeanne was just an infant.

In 1944 Jeanne met William Dale Corson at a USO dance.  Dale was in the Army and in December 1944 they were wed in a very small service.  Dale was injured in the Philippines and returned home in 1945.  In the summer of 1946 their first and only son Robert Allen was born.  After Bob's first year of school the family relocated to Galena Park, TX.  Jeanne was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church and served for 32 years as an administrator in the Galena Park Independent School District.  Her last position was Executive Secretary to the Assistant Superintendent of GPISD.  Jeanne was a gifted vocalist and served her church in a variety of capacities including the choir.  She loved dogs and always had a dachshund in the house.  When her first great grandchildren were born Jeanne took the name GG.

Dale passed in 1994 and Jeanne remained in their home until 2018 (a total of 65 years) when she moved to Spring, TX to be closer to her family.  After moving to Spring, Jeanne was able to take a much more active part in family activities including piano recitals, basketball games, birthdays, anniversaries, outings at restaurants etc.  She dearly loved seeing her legacy grow into beautiful young Christian men and women.  In October 2022 Jeanne relocated to The Landing, a retirement community still in Spring and was well known and greatly admired as GG in the community.  Shortly after Christmas 2023 GG took a turn for the worse and clearly could not continue independently at the Landing.  Her conditioned worsened until her passing on 17 Feb 2024.

Jeanne is survived by her son Bob, daughter in law Suzi, granddaughter Tracy and husband Jerry Hopkins, grandson David and wife Kerri, and great grandchildren Addison, Jadon, Kaylee, and Cody Hopkins and Lane Corson.  Jeanne was blessed with a beautiful life of almost 98 years and will be greatly missed by all.
