Norma Jean passed peacefully on May 14, 2025 surrounded by family. She was born in Conroe, Texas to parents Vernon Cummings and Viola Elliot Cummings on March 1, 1934. Her parents had recently moved to Texas from South Dakota.
Norma grew up in the Klein/Cypress area. She graduated from Cy-Fair High School in 1952, where she was a Majorette with the band. In high school is where she developed a love for volleyball, that she enjoyed for many years to come. She attended Massey Business School and became a Kelly Girl. Norma enjoyed dancing where she met her husband-to-be, Willie Petrzelka. Norma and Willie married in 1953.
Norma was musically talented playing both the accordion and the piano. She was a member of the Cypress Ramblers playing country western and polka music. She performed at events such as fundraisers and community gatherings.
Norma worked for the Cypress Post Office and retired after 31 years of service. She maintained records for the family business. Norma and Willie enjoyed traveling in their RV. She was a member of the Houston Sokol and actively involved in their gymnastic and volleyball program. In her love for dance, Norma was a member of the Polka club.
After her husband Willie passed, she remarried Elroy Kloesel where she continued her love for music and dancing.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents Vernon and Viola Cummings, her husband, Willie Petrzelka and Elroy Kloesel.
Norma is survived by her son, Mark Petrzelka and his wife, Valerie; her daughter, Karen Petrzelka and her husband, Henry Novak; grandsons, Bart and Michael Vyoral: grandson, Bryan Petrzelka and wife, Tzeitel; granddaughter, Stephanie Williams and husband Chris; great grandchildren, Daphne, Drake and Logan Petrzelka, and Coy and Case Williams.
