Obituary

Norma Lydia McMillen went home to the arms of God and her Husband on Monday March 12 th , 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents Norman and Rhoda Cameron, Brother Ian Cameron and Husband Donald McMillen. Norma Lydia Cameron was born November 20 th , 1923 in Durbin, South Africa. She served in the South African Army as a member of the Coastal Artillery and was a veteran of WWII. After the war, a South African girl met a young man from Indiana at an oil refinery and they were married less than six months later.

They enjoyed over 55 wonderful years together. Her son Andrew was born in Australia in 1960 and daughter MaryKatherine in New York in 1962. Norma and her family traveled the world,; living in south Africa, India, Japan and Australia before settling in Spring, Texas in 1975. Norma was very active in the lives of her family and was always kind and generous. She loved playing tennis and could keep up with the best of them. Norma was a long-time member of the Memorial Northwest Ladybugs Garden Club and loved tending to work in the yard surrounded by her devoted dogs.

Norma is survived by her son Andy McMillen, her daughter in law Steffanie McMillen, her daughter MaryKate Berlin, her grandchildren Kelsey Berlin-Ivie, Blake Berlin, Cameron McMillen, Sarah McMillen and great granddaughter Cheyenne Ivie. She is also survived by her brother in law James McMillen and sister in law Carol McMillen and many special nieces, nephews and other family members. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 23
rd at 11:00 a.m. at Northwoods Presbyterian Church. 3320 FM 1960 Rd West Houston, TX 77068. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
