Nora Taylor, 94, passed away Nov. 30, 2019, in her home in Houston, TX. A graveside service will be held Sat., Dec. 7, 2019, at Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth, TX. A memorial service will be held Thurs., Dec. 12, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church in Houston.
Nora was born Aug. 26, 1925, near Raton, NM, to Isaac Williams and Margaret MacDonald Franklin Williams. An avid traveler, she visited each continent at least once. She was also an accomplished seamstress, creating everything from doll clothing to wedding dresses for her daughters. In her spare time, Nora enjoyed frequenting the Houston symphony, ballet, and opera, as well as volunteering at her previous residence's library.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen Megill (and husband, Rev. Greg) and Sharon Light; grandchildren, Amy Megill (fiancé Adam Mulkey), Jason Light, and Patrick Light; sisters-in-law, Sammie Williams, Loretta Smith Zimmerman (Bob), and Jackie Smith; numerous nieces and nephews; and caregiver, Earleen Hoskins.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Howard Smith and Judge Kerns Taylor; and siblings, Edna Mae Franklin McCoy (Tommy), Margaret Eva Franklin Cunico Marchioro (Geno), Frances Williams Scott (Larry), J T Williams (Barbie), George Williams, and Donald Williams (Sammie).
The family requests that no flowers be sent. Instead, please donate to Smile Train (smiletrain.org) or Seva (seva.org).
