F. Nodene Snyder
Nodene Snyder of Houston, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on April 23, 2022 at the age of 83.
Born in Livermore, Kentucky in May 1938, she completed high school in Owensboro, KY and attended Peabody College (Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN) where she earned her degree in teaching, a minor in music, and taught high school English at schools in Kentucky, South Carolina, Virginia, Texas and New York. An accomplished pianist, she also taught piano in Houston for over 15 years.
A resident of Houston since 1975, Nodene was active over the years in area tennis leagues, bridge clubs, Bible Study Fellowship (BSF), and her church and Life Group at Champion Forest Baptist Church. She was also an avid reader, writer, gardener, and lifelong student of the Bible.
Celebrating nearly 61 years of marriage, Nodene and Larry were partners in parenting, traveling, and their love of God. Nodene is survived by her husband Larry, sons Bruce (Marcie) Snyder and David (Jennifer) Snyder, brother Jerry Cabbage, grandchildren Trevor Snyder, Madison (Weston) Perkins, and Sean Snyder, nephews Ted, Sean, and Aaron Cabbage and their families, nieces Erica Smith and Colleen Renz and their families, and many beloved, lifelong friends. In addition to her parents, Nodene was preceded in death by her son Brian Snyder and her sister Elizabeth Renz.
A celebration of her life will be held May 3, 2022, 10:00 am in the chapel at Champion Forest Baptist Church, Houston, Texas.
