Nina Cobb Cruz, a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and passionate gardener, peacefully passed away on July 9, 2024 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 6, 1944, in Lambert, MS, to Corine and Royce Cobb Sr., Nina pursued her education at Northwest Community College in Senatobia, MS, and later at Ole Miss (University of MS). Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and devotion.

Nina's journey took her from her Mississippi roots to the Houston area in 1968, where she made lasting connections. During her time in Huffman, she and her husband, Pascual, actively participated in the St. Philip Catholic Church community. Their unwavering faith and commitment to service left an indelible mark on those who knew her.

In 2001, Nina and Pascual retired to Batesville, MS, where she continued her compassionate work by volunteering at the local food pantry and contributing to the vibrant life of St. Mary Catholic Church. Her green thumb flourished as she tended to her beloved irises and daylilies, finding solace and beauty in their blooms.

In 2021, they returned to the Houston area to be closer to family. She leaves behind her loving husband of 57 years, Pascual; their daughter, Jennifer Guy; son-in-law, Steven Guy; grandchildren, Gabrielle and Zachary Guy, who brought immense joy to her life; and her son Trey.

Nina is survived by her two sisters, Doris Winton and Jean Douglas, as well as her sister-in-law, Sandra Cobb. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Joyce Mullins, and her brother Royce Cobb Jr.

The funeral mass to celebrate Nina's life will be held on Thursday July 25th at 2:00 PM at St. Edward Catholic Church in Spring, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Parkinson's Voice Project (Donate ( parkinsonvoiceproject.org )) and/or National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation ( Donate Now | National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation (npcf.us).
