Nettie Dee Hutchins, 85, of Montgomery, Texas, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on April 28th, 2026.  Dee was born May 16th, 1940, in Houston, Texas to the late James Roland Deaton and Mary Evelyn (Killingsworth) Deaton.

Dee is survived by her two children, Greg (Cathy) Hutchins, Gena (Quinton) Wilson; grandchildren, Cody (Kendra) Hutchins, Dustin Dyal, Darrin Dyal, Sheyenne (James Rohbock), Bailey (Caleb) Feazall, James (Chrissy) Gibson.  She was blessed with six great grandchildren; twins Lainey & Adam Hutchins, Jaelynn McCrory, baby girl Feazell, Avanni Gibson and Abram Gibson.

Dee was the eldest of nine siblings.  She is survived by Randy (Belinda) Deaton, Phillip (Lynn) Deaton, Rusty (Jackie) Deaton, Cheryl (Billy) Matelske, Nelda (Blake) Bowles, Lynette (Ralph) Gibson, Sugar Deaton (Sister-in-law) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Including her parents Dee was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gerald Hutchins; daughter Kelly Dyal (Bobby Dyal) siblings Jimmy Deaton, Janet E Garrett and Jeff Deaton.

From a very early age she became a mother figure to her siblings. That was just the beginning. Then she became a wife and mother of three children. She also was an aunt to MANY, Granny Dee to some, Nana to her grandchildren and just recently became a GREAT Nana to her great grandchildren.

So many outside friends of the family would call her Mama Dee. That's just who she was!  Always a momma whether family or not! Family was always first to her. You will never meet a more generous, caring woman who touched so many lives.

Her career was an accountant for George Mitchell in The Woodlands for many years. After retiring she became a special needs bus monitor.

Her hobbies included cooking, baking, sewing, crafting, softball coach and enjoying time with the family at the lake fishing. She used to sew her sister's clothes as well as clothes for the nuns at St. Gregory's church. At 85 years old she was still going to the gym!

She was a good cook however she loved to bake. She liked her sweets too! She made numerous wedding cakes, birthday cakes and shower cakes for family and friends all from scratch and the secret ingredient was LOVE.
