Obituary

Nell Elizabeth Newton Lupo went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the age of 77. She was born and raised in Mississippi with her beloved parents Ida Lee and B.I. Newton along with her 4 siblings Benny, Jack, Buddy and Dianne. While in Jackson, MS she met and married Leonard Lupo and they were together for 47 years. They moved around quite a bit in the beginning but settled in Houston, TX and have lived there for over 40 years.

Nell had a community of loved ones surrounding her in each stage of her life but her greatest joy was being a mother to her children, Chris and Ashley. In her first career as Mom, Nell participated in every activity her children were a part of. From carpool to booster clubs, Nell did it all with a loving heart and a beautiful smile.

Her second career began at Compaq/Hewlett Packard. As Nell has with everything in her life, she approached work with a joyful attitude and a servant's heart. Her boss and many of the ladies that worked alongside her quickly became some of her closest friends. Nell had a spirit and zest for life that was contagious and always stayed hopeful no matter the circumstances.

Nell is survived by her husband Leonard Lupo, son and daughter-in-law Chris and Altovise Lupo, daughter and son-in-law Ashley and John Stevens, and granddaughter Mia Lupo.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Second Baptist Church, 6400 Woodway Drive in the Hankamer Chapel. Nell loved color so we ask that you forego the traditional black attire and wear a fun color or print in her honor. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation at http://www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org/.

"But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31
