Neil Brett Redding

In the early morning hours of October 15 ^th , 2019, Brett Redding, loving son and brother tragically passed away at the age of 41 years young. Brett was born in Houston, TX to Neil and Marsha Redding. He attended CFISD schools and finished at Jersey Village High School. Brett loved to get dirty and work with his hands, so he did work in Machine Shops, and in more recent years- Construction. In addition, Brett was a lover of all sports, especially football. You could always find him around the TV cheering on his teams, and if the Dallas Cowboys were on, his stubborn side would come out if you tried to bad mouth them because he would defend the things he loved with everything he had. He also loved to be outdoors at the lake or the beach. Brett was happiest being outside BBQing or cooking for his family, fishing, hunting, or just relaxing by the water- where he would turn as a red as a lobster for refusing to put on sunscreen because he thought he could tan. He was also a lover of Country Music, and he would sing as loud as he could when his favorite songs would come on, and he may even try to grab your hand and dance around the living room floor with his silly smile. Furthermore, just like his grandpa, Brett was a lover of animals, and he never wanted to see a cat or dog without a home; the number of stray pets he took in to care for is unknown because it was so many, but the love he provided was endless. More than anything in life, Brett loved his family and friends, and his favorite thing was getting to be an uncle. He never met a stranger because he would befriend without judgement, and he would try to help someone out any way he could. He was best known for giving great big bear hugs, flashing those baby blue eyes with his infectious smile and dimples, and his kind, compassionate heart. Brett is preceded in death by his sister- Catherine Redding, maternal grandparents- Thelma Houseman and George and Billie Houseman, his paternal grandparents- Rogers and Pauline Redding, his uncles- Forest Redding, Frank Lawson, and Bill Yetman, and his beloved cousin-Rogers Redding. He is survived by his wife-Karmin Russo, loving parents- Neil and Marsha Redding, his sister- Meghan Taylor and brother- in-law- Josh Taylor, his niece and nephew, who were his pride and joy- Madysen and Jameson Taylor, his brother- Timothy "Ryan" Redding and his partner- Oscar Diaz, and several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. There will be a viewing on Friday, October 25 ^th , 2019 from 5pm-8pm, and the funeral will be held on Saturday, October 26 ^th at 10am- all services will be held in the Chapel of the Klein Funeral Home at 9719 Wortham BLVD.
