Nathan Simmons went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 5, 2022.  He passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 33. Nathan was born in Houston, Texas and raised with his little brother in Round Rock. Growing up he worked hard and devoted a lot of his time to scouting earning him the rank of Eagle Scout by the age of 18.

When Nathan was 10, he fell in love with the Audio industry, a passion that he kept for his entire life. He began volunteering in the sound booth at First United Methodist Church of Round Rock. He continued volunteering for RRFUMC in growing capacities until he moved to Houston in 2010.  In High School he worked for the Round Rock Performing Arts Center doing sound and lighting for live performances.  Nathan continued to work contract work for churches by upgrading their audio/visual systems for services.  Nathan found his home church with St. Peter's UMC in Katy, Texas for their Living Stones Contemporary service as their audio/visual technician.  When this service became a separate church, he stayed with them as their main audio/video and all around IT guy.  He was a member and served with them until his death.

Nathan moved to Houston after high school and completed his formal education at Media    Tech Institute Recording Arts Program in Audio, Video, Multimedia Education.  From there he began his professional career installing audio and video equipment for commercial businesses and churches. Eventually he moved on to setting up the equipment and running the media booth for live events. Due to the pandemic of 2020, he moved back into audio and video installation, project management, and mentoring and training new employees.

In his free time Nathan liked to build PC's, continually upgrading to the latest and greatest tech toys.  Of course he was his family's IT support!  Nathan was an extremely patient man and always loved to help.  Nathan was a huge gamer in his free time.  He had friends all over the world.  His favorite game was EVE.  He was planning a trip to Canada soon to visit 3 of his gaming friends.

Nathan loved the Lord. Whether good times or bad, Nathan always put his faith in the Lord first.

While we mourn the loss of his life, we are all better people for knowing, loving and learning from him.  His smile was infectious and he made everyone he was around smile and laugh along with him.

Nathan is survived by his parents, John and Diane Simmons and his brother Eric.  He has aunts and uncles and cousins that will miss him dearly.  Nathan is preceded in death by grandparents Wesley and Marianne Simmons and Richard and Ann Smith.
