It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Natalie Marie Brackett, who left an inspiring impact on all who knew her, before leaving us on December 15, 2024. Natalie was born on November 15, 2006 to Gabriel and Julie Brackett in Montgomery, Texas, and has a younger sister who she adored, Avery Brackett.

Natalie's loving, bright spirit was taken too soon. She was a fighter from the beginning, living with Muscular Dystrophy, but never held back by it. She learned to adjust, accommodate and thrive with any setback.  Natalie understood that she was different, but didn't live that way. She expected everyone she met to treat her as an equal and without pity.

Natalie achieved and experienced so much in her short life. She loved and was involved in school, always eager to learn more and strived to do her absolute best. She was extremely smart and competitive, even with herself. She was a Senior this year, taking college level classes, on the National Honor Society, an officer on the NHS, was on student council and a member of a few other clubs. Natalie loved science and was looking forward to her college years, where she wanted to make an impact to the scientific world. We have no doubt that she would have succeeded in her efforts, she was focused and determined to achieve whatever she put her mind to.

Natalie also had a passion for power chair soccer. As a ten-year member of the United States Power Soccer Association with the Houston Fireballs, she soon became the fierce midfielder, known for her kicking accuracy. She made many lasting friendships with her teammates and coaches, and helped her team accomplish many victories. Number 7 will live on in the Fireball legacy, cheering on her team that always cheered for her.

Natalie was an old soul, wise beyond her years. She had an effect on anyone she met, leaving a lasting, warm impression. She was funny, quick-witted, opinionated, knew what she wanted and stuck to it. She was happy, silly, brave and determined. Natalie loved her cats, had an affection for sloths, an interest in gemstones and fossils, an on-line gamer and was an unwavering Swifty. At 16, she had a long-time dream come true by seeing her idol in concert and trade friendship bracelets.

Our Natty Bug was a true fighter! She fought her entire life to live happily, take on her many hurdles and love her family and friends. It was her family that she worried about most, her family that cared for her night and day, every day, her entire life. She had so much more to offer our world, but her body just couldn't keep up with her ambitions. Natalie will continue to fight for her family's healing and well-being. She was a bright light that will continue to shine in our hearts forever.

A celebration of Natalie's life will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Klein Funeral Home in Magnolia. Visitation starts at 9:00 AM. You are invited to gather and honor the life of this beautiful young lady, who touched the hearts of everyone she met and whose time with us will impact us forever.
