Nancy Delia Kuh, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted friend to every dog she ever met, passed away on May 30, 2026, in Cypress, Texas, at the age of 87 after a long illness.

Born on May 16, 1939, in Manhattan, New York, Nancy grew up in the Los Angeles area before spending years across the American Southwest — living in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. But it was Houston that truly captured her heart, and she proudly called it home for the last 48 years of her life.

Nancy built a remarkable 30-year career with McDonald's, rising to become an area supervisor in the Houston region — a position she held until she retired at the age of 75. Her dedication and work ethic inspired all who knew her.

Outside of work, Nancy lived life with enthusiasm and joy. She was a passionate sports fan whose loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys never wavered, no matter the season. She had a deep love of music — the timeless voice of Frank Sinatra and the honky-tonk heart of George Strait both found a place in her home. She cherished family gatherings around a good barbecue and created lasting memories on cruises with the people she loved most. And through it all, she had a special tenderness for animals, particularly dogs, who always seemed to find a friend in her.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Eileen Egerer Kuh; her sister, Wendy Kuh Pinkus; her son, Harold D. McGarrah Jr.; and both of her spouses.

She is survived by her brother, David Kuh; and her four children and their families:

Patricia Gardner and husband Michael, with children Carolyn (Craig) Broadbent, Robert (Jasmine) Gardner, and Heidi (Joshua) Dickhaut, 14 grandchildren plus 3 spouses, and 3 great-grandchildren.

James Klein and wife Karen, his children Michael and Bridget, and 1 granddaughter.

Sharon Sanders and husband Kyle, her child Tony (Jennifer) and 4 grandchildren.

Amber Rabel and husband Corey, her child Kevin and 1 granddaughter.

Nancy McGarrah lived a full and spirited life — one measured not in miles traveled or years worked, but in the love she gave freely and the laughter she brought to every room. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
