Nancy Ann McBane, 74 of Houston passed away January 23, 2018. She was born January 26, 1943 in Springfield, Illinois to Robert K. and Elizabeth Edgell Foster.

Nancy is survived by her husband Jim McBane and her sons James McBane of Houston and Matthew McBane of Richmond, VA; her beloved daughters-in-law Darla Rock McBane and Jennifer Koffman McBane; her dearest twin sister Martha (Douglas) Sutton of Springfield, IL ; sisters Mary "Liddy" (Joseph) McLaughlin, Phyllis (Aubra) Shropshire of Visalia, CA and Virginia Calfee of Baton Rouge, LA; brothers Robert K. (Carolyn) Foster of San Carlos, CA and Samuel (Judy) Foster of Petersburg, IL; grandchildren Travus McBane, Olivia McBane, Conner (Kaitlyn) McBane and Michael McBane.

After graduating Glenwood High School in Chatham, Illinois she attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, later transferring to Springfield Junior College, where she met and married the love of her life, Jim.  Nancy wanted to start a family right away and they soon found themselves with two boys living in Baton Rouge, LA where Jim's career had brought them.  Nancy's fun and kind spirit brought them a host of friends wherever they went. She learned to be a wonderful cook from her southern friends and enjoyed Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, crawfish boils and parties with friends, family and her Beta Sigma Phi sorority sisters.  She never met a stranger, always saw the best in you, and insisted on giving a hug to everyone no matter who you are or how you look.

Nancy is well known for her love of children and how much children love her.  Her grandchildren felt that Nana's house was the best place in the world.  Nana was patient and kind, fun and giddy with an attitude of carpe diem.  Christmas with Nancy was like being at the North Pole.  Everyone she knew had a present at Christmas and many many gifts from "Santa".

Nancy was a very devout Catholic and served as an EMHC, RCIA sponsor and served at retreats and many events.  She had a special devotion to the rosary and she is surely today celebrating with the angels she loved so much.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 29 from 6pm until 8pm, with  a Vigil Service at 7pm and followed by her beloved Rosary being prayed at Klein Funeral Home Champion Forest. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am Tuesday, January 30 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church and burial following at Klein Memorial Park at 9714 FM 2920. The family requests no flowers be sent, but instead donations in Nancy's memory be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center.
