Nancy Kaye Ward Mann passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at the age of 71. Nancy was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 29, 1946 and was raised in Austin Texas by her parents H L Ward and Virginia Sue Bunce Ward. It was in Austin where she met and married her husband of over 50 years, W.R. "Rick" Mann.
Nancy and Rick eventually moved to Klein Texas where they raised their two children Laura Kaye and Scott Alan.
She began a 32 year career with Klein Independent School District as the Financial Secretary to numerous principals for Epps Island Elementary School. Nancy had a deep found faith in our Lord and was a devout member of Champion Forest Baptist Church. When once asked what her hobbies were, she did not hesitate to say her children were her hobby and that love extended to both her grandchildren and several special nieces.
Nancy was a devoted and loving wife, and mother. Her family was most important to her and she took her job of being "Nana" very seriously. Any chance to spend time with her family was very important to her. Nancy was also a "mother" to several close friends.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Rick Mann of Klein Texas, daughter Laura Kaye and husband Robert Hudson of The Woodlands, Texas, and son Scott Alan Mann and fiancé Alycia Hepler of Longview, Texas, as well as her sister Beverley Stengel and husband Bobby of Austin, Texas and her sister Linda Cunningham of Mason, Texas. Her grandchildren, which were the love of her life, include Rylie Marie Mann, Kamryn Kaye Mann and Lofton Lucille Hudson. Nancy is also survived by her honorary granddaughter Angelita Pacheco Turner as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank all of Nancy's doctors as well as the staff of Methodist Willowbrook Hospital, Nexus Specialty Hospital The Woodlands, and HealthSouth The Vintage for all the care and attention over the past few months.
There will be a visitation for family and friends on Sunday, July 30, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Chapel at Champion Forest Baptist Church on Steubner-Airline. Beginning at 5:00 PM, Dr. David Fleming will preside over a guided service. Nancy will be laid to rest at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 31, 2016 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the Klein Educational Foundation or the Klein Historical Foundation or an Educational Foundation of your preference.
