Nancy Jane Makofski, born June 18, 1940 in Union Town, Pennsylvania, loving and awesome Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Aunt and Friend, died peacefully on March 4, 2021. Wife of Thomas Makofski and Mother of James (Dorothy) Makofski, Chris (Mark) Moore, Thomas (Linda) Makofski, Betty Jo (John) Crochet, and Billie Jo (Jonathan) Makofski. Grandmother to Nicole (Kevin) Moore, Jennifer, Jeremy and Daniel Carmeci, Brandie Makofski, Jay (Alicia) Makofski, Charlie Makofski, Randy Makofski, Devyn and Olivia Makofski, and Great Grandmother to Hailey and Madison Carmeci, Jessica Makofski, and the apple of her eye, Samantha .

Nancy grew up with her Mother, Step-Father and brother (Chuck) in Pennsylvania and moved to Syracuse, New York where she met the love of her life, Tom. They were married for 55 years and had 5 children together. Tom, Nancy and the kids lived in the Eastern states the first part of their marriage and enjoyed the history and beauty of the area – the family loved the outdoors and went camping on an ongoing basis.

When a fire claimed their home in 1980, Nancy, Tom and the entire family made the move to Houston where she lived the rest of her life. She called Houston her home but missed the cooler weather and her friends in New York.

Nancy was a long-time and active member of New Life Community Church in Pinehurst.

An animal lover, Nancy loved to watch the many birds in her yard as they ate and bathed and she doted on her dog, Ralph.

Nancy loved to host the entire family at the holidays – she was an outstanding cook and would serve mouth-watering meals and an assortment of pies and home-made cookies for all to eat.

Her beloved family was with her at the end and they will miss and love her forever in their hearts and find comfort knowing that she is back in the arms of Jesus and her husband, Tom.
