Della "Nadine" Bentley, age 95 was surrounded by loved ones when she was
called home to be with the Lord on March 1, 2023.
Nadine was born on November 13, 1927 in Wellsville, MO, born to Alice
and Harvey Knipfel, who have preceded her in death.
To know Nadine was to love Nadine. She shared her love of life and positive
outlook with everyone she met. It was impossible not to be touched by her
kindness and loving spirit. Her family and friends learned lessons in
strength, dignity and character from her life.
She was a diligent follower of Jesus and served her Lord in countless hours
of ministry including nursery, children's Sunday school classes, Vacation
Bible School, potluck dinners at church, and assuming the role of "Virginia"
while playing the "jawbone" in the Kitchen Band. She always served with
a smile and loved to share Jesus with others.
Nadine worked at A.P. Green Fire Brick Company in Mexico, MO in their
advertising department. She moved to Quincy, IL where she worked for
Gardner Denver in their insurance department. This is where she met her
husband of fifty years, Raymond ("Ray") Bentley. Nadine and Ray retired
and moved to Branson, MO where they enjoyed their time together fishing
and relaxing. Faith was an important part of their lives, and they were
actively involved in their church, Friendly Baptist Church.
Ray and Nadine moved to Texas in 2017 to be closer to family as they
needed more care. Nadine was preceded in death by her husband, Ray
Bentley, who passed on October 13, 2022. The family would like to extend
their heartfelt thanks to all those who helped in caring for Ray and Nadine
over the last few years.
Nadine is survived by her four children: Donna and her husband Dallas
Deege, Debra and her husband Rich Davis, Brian and his wife Violet
Bentley, and Karen Green. Nadine is preceded in death by her son George
Bentley.
Nadine had seven grandchildren: Darin and his wife Kim Deege, Deana and
her husband Jim Lieberman, Alan and his wife Julie Davis, Tony Davis,
Amanda and her husband Ethan Allen, Priscilla and her husband Joe Sardin,
and JR Green.
Nadine also has twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great
grandchildren.
Nadine was a solid pillar to her family and will be missed dearly. She lived
a life full of giving to others and loving her family. She was always smiling.
She loved Jesus and is now by his side. She is now in Heaven dancing with
her husband again and reunited with her family including sister (Velma
Banks) and niece (Sharon Walker). Her family will cherish all the memories
of her life.
A celebration of Nadine's life will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, April 6,
2023 at Bear Creek Baptist Church, 5901 N. Fry Road, Katy TX 77449. In
addition, the family will have a ceremony to reunite her and her husband at
the graveside.
