Murphy Dorleh Roberts, our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend passed away and received his heavenly wings on July 15, 2022.

Murphy was born on June 19, 1956, in Liberia, West Africa. He embraced the Christian faith at an early age and was baptized in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Yekepa, Nimba County-Liberia. He spent his early school days in Yekepa where he graduated from high school in 1976. He continued his education at Liberian Vocational Training Center (VTC) where he received a diploma in accounting. He later earned full time employment with the institute and worked as the chief accountant before migrating to the United States of America in July of 1986.

He made a home for himself in Houston, Texas where he spent the latter part of his life. He adopted many Texas customs including his love for country music, his signature pick-up truck, and annual trips with his family to the Houston Rodeo. He loved his family and friends deeply. He never hesitated to speak his mind, enjoyed countless hours of laughter, and was always there to help a friend or family member in need.

Murphy was a dedicated employee of Cy-Fair Independent School District for 28 years. He illustrated to us all the importance of working hard in anything you do. He was recognized as a steward of the school district in May 2015, receiving the Spotlight Award for Support Staff. He performed his work with joy and had great love for his co-workers and students.

Murphy by every account was a generous and kind person. He lived his life at his own pace. He always remained humble and down-to- earth with a wide range of friends from Liberia and all around the world. His love for his family was undeniable and unmatched. He is survived by his children: Jerry, Michael-vee (Chris), Mekelee, Mabunatu, Thomas, and Mur-Dorleh; his grandchildren: Catherine, Martina, Muna, Fred, Jemal, Divine, Christeen and Mehetabel; his siblings: Lydia, Bindu, Jebdee, Nehneh (Paul), Ciatta, Boakai (Ayah), Alfa, Armah (Brianna), Catherine, and Maybel (James); and many other loving family members and friends.

We grievously mourn his loss, but we triumphantly celebrate his entry into heaven, where there is no more sickness and no more pain. May his soul and souls of all the faithful departed Rest in Peace. Amen
