Monica Renee Moses was born September 9, 1979, to Melvin and Mary Moses in Bogalusa, Louisiana, and passed away on July 27, 2016, in Bryan, Texas. She
was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Moses, and her grandparents, Wright C. and Bessie Mae Ratliff.
Monica accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev. C.D. Wilkins at Second Street Baptist Church in Somerville, Texas. She enjoyed a rewarding career in Physical Therapy and was a favorite at Houston hospitals and nursing homes. She enjoyed traveling, various types of music, spending time with family, and motivating others.
She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Mary Moses; her sister, Melanie Moses; two nieces, Jasmine and Krishna; a nephew, Johonn McGowan; and her cousins, Michelle Ratliff, Herbert Plumber, Jr., Stacie Wooberry, Miranda Moore, Donnyelle Burns, Herbchelle Plumber, Heather Ratliff, Henry Perez, and Josh Ratliff; a great-nephew, De'Kyran Sanders; and a host of aunts, uncles, additional cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 6, at The Yegua Center, 616 8th Street, Somerville, TX 77879. Interment will follow in Somerville Cemetery after which everyone is invited to Somerville Elementary School, 371 2nd Street, Somerville, TX 77879, for a reception.
