Molly Ann (Brooks) Ferguson Obituary
Molly Ann (Brooks) Ferguson went into the presence of the Lord on February 23, 2019, at the age of 79, in Houston, Texas. Molly was born on August 8th, 1939, to Clayton "Monty" and Selma (Gibson) Brooks, in Thornton, Texas. Molly was involved in a variety of school activities, including volleyball, drama, the yearbook committee, and cheerleading. She graduated from Thornton High School as the Valedictorian of her class. After high school, Molly attended the University of Houston to study Fashion Design and Merchandizing and pledged the Delta Zeta Sorority. She later transferred to the University of Texas at Austin and received a Bachelors of Business Administration in 1961. While at the University of Texas, she met her Husband to Be, Jon Edwin Ferguson. They were married one week after graduation, on June 10th, 1961. Molly and Jon moved to San Francisco while Jon served in the Navy. After Jon's service, they returned to Houston, Texas, with the majority of their time living in Spring, Texas, in the Cypresswood community. Molly then focused on being a home maker. She raised four children and was heavily involved in countless activities from team Mom to feeding the neighborhood friends who often visited their home. Molly was an avid cook, a talented seamstress, and an accomplished pianist. Molly spent some time as a realtor, and often would be seen walking around the neighborhood. She beat breast cancer, was a member of the Daughters of the King, and was actively involved in a quilting group for cancer patients and others in need. She had a huge heart, kind disposition, and everyone who met her immediately recognized the sweet person she was. She was a long-time member of The Holy Comforter Episcopal Church and involved in their crocheted prayer shawl ministry. We have no doubt that she heard "Well done, my good and faithful servant" as she entered God's presence.
Molly was preceded in death Clayton (Monty) Brooks (father), Selma Brooks (mother), and Leigh Ann Ferguson (daughter). She is survived by Jon E. Ferguson (Husband of 57 years), Jon K Ferguson (son), Kimberly Ferguson (daughter-in-law), Robert Ferguson (son), Travis Ferguson (son), Alison Ferguson (daughter-in-law), Cole Ferguson (grandson), Haley Ferguson (granddaughter), Luke Ferguson (grandson), Ian Ferguson (grandson), Brooke Ferguson (granddaughter), Isiah Ferguson (grandson), Elizabeth Brooks (sister), Justin, Emily, and Harvey Bankston, David, Kristi, and Eva Teykl.
