Rest in peace: Mirtha Jeannette Rodriguez Orgales
May Christ the King 1963-2025
Mirtha Jeannette Rodriguez Orgales died in a car accident, hit and run in the freeway Gulf in Houston, Texas, on March 29, 2025. She was the daughter of Dr. Hernando Rodriguez Grandas and Alicia Orgales de Rodriguez, a dietitian and nutritionist. Mirtha grew up in Bogotá, Colombia. She attended St. George's School where she earned her bachelor's degree. She then graduated with a law degree from Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario, Bogotá, in 1989. Mirtha practiced law in Colombia for several years, both in consulting and in the Public Credit department of the Ministry of Finance.
Mirtha then arrived in Houston, Texas. In Houston, the Ariza family helped her obtain her Bilingual Teaching Degree, and she worked for several years as a teacher. Mirtha loved children, had a great spirit for them, was very friendly, cheerful, and highly intelligent. Family and friends miss her for her small details and jokes. Mirtha joined the Indu Community in Houston, Texas. She went to India and took my parent to India. She did important work for the poor in India. Mirtha also worked in special nursing homes taking care of Seniors in New York and Los Angeles. Mirtha was refocusing on her work, efforts, and future in Houston, Texas, when she suddenly passed away. Mirtha never got married and had no children.
We want to acknowledge and thank the immense support of our families, Catherine Rodriguez, Daniela Rodriguez, Marcia and Adriana Ardila, and Mike and Hafitza Sander. We would also like to mention friends who are considered family today, Yolanda Vasquez and family; and Alvaro Giron and family.
Surviving are her mother, Alicia E. Orgales de Rodriguez, her sister, Patricia E. Rodriguez Orgales, her niece, Melanie A. Griffith, and all the Rodriguez, Ardila, Ariza, and Orgales relatives. Mirtha receives the love and affection of her family and friends and rests in peace.
