Milton Dan Adkisson was born on March 14, 1932, in Lubbock, Texas, to Milton Hastings and Minnie Lee Adkisson, both of whom preceded him in death. He passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, in Tomball, Texas. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Geneva; daughter, Connie Sheffield and husband Kent; son, Steve Adkisson and wife Michelle; daughter, D'Ann Adkisson and husband Michael Hunt; three grandchildren, Mason Sheffield, Megan Sheffield, and Kayley Adkisson; a great-granddaughter Emrey Elise; a brother, David Adkisson; and several nieces and nephews.
Dan served four years in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and then returned home to attend and graduate from Texas Tech University in 1958. He started out in the sheet metal business with his father in Lubbock. Several years later he started his own auctioneering and liquidation business in Tomball. He has spent the last 15 years as a real estate appraiser. He loved to read and was an avid watercolorist.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 24, at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 W. Main, Tomball, TX 77375, with visitation to begin at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Klein Memorial Park, SH 249, Pinehurst, TX.
