Mildred Elizabeth Barbaro, born Capobianco, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017, at the age of 90. Born August 31, 1927, in Spring Lake, New Jersey to John Capobianco and Concetta Caccavo Capobianco. Her two older brothers, John and Paul, predeceased her. She graduated from Asbury Park High School with interest in performing on the stage. She enjoyed developing her acting talent in summer stock productions at Spring Lake Theater with actors including Basil Rathbone, Richard Venture, Darren McGavin, Leo G. Carroll, and Van Johnson. She accepted the long-running role as wife to Daniel Nicholas Barbaro on October 7, 1950, and moved to Westchester and then to Rockland County, New York, where the couple raised three children, Catherine Ann, Peter John, and Daniel Edward. Upon her husbands retirement from the golf industry, Mildred and Daniel moved to Lakewood, New Jersey. Shortly, after Daniels death in 2005, Mildred moved to be closer to her children in Houston, Texas. She spent her last four years at Silverado Cypresswood residential facility and received excellent, loving care and support. She is survived by her three children and their spouses (John Holecek, Susan Hatheway Barbaro, and Zeddy Chelule Barbaro), nine grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed, a true character.
