Mickie Sory Veale-Lepley was born on July 20, 1937 at home, in Houston, Texas. She passed away surrounded by her loving family, at home, March 18, 2019 in Cypress, Texas. She is survived by her husband Ralph Marshall Lepley.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Aaron Noble (Buck) Sory and Edna Earl Cheshire Sory, and husband William Cuberley (Bill) Veale. She is survived by her sisters, Nancy Adenia Sory Geschke, Diane Hogan, Patsy Neighbors and niece Ida Elizabeth (Missy) Geschke. Mickie had many cousins, nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

She married Bill Veale on April 26, 1958.  Mickie and Bill were married for 41 years. She is survived by their daughters Kimberley Veale Clayton, Kathryn Veale Jackson and husband Rex, Martha Veale Gomillion  and husband David, Kristin Veale Priebe and husband Alex.

Mickie grew up in Houston, Texas, and attended Stephen F. Austin High School. She was in the graduating class of 1955. In high school Mickie was in the Scottish Brigade and served as Lt. Col. of Reserves her 3rd year. Her love of music and dance was evident throughout her life.

In 1957, at the wedding of (life long friends) Gloria and Tubby McCutcheon, Mickie and Bill met. They lived in South America and Kansas before making Texas their permanent home. They raised their girls early on in Houston, then in 1971 moved to Friendswood. Mickie resided in Friendswood until 2002. During the mid 80's Mickie opened up a bear store off of Westheimer called the Creekwood Bear Co. Folks from all over the world sought out the unique, antique, and exclusive handmade bears that she carried. For the past 35 years Mickie has been an avid seamstress and quilt maker. It is not known how many quilts she has made over the years, but every child, grandchild, great-grandchild, and even future greats have a quilt with their name on it.

Mickie worked on the planning committee for her class reunions over the years. It was there that she met a classmate named Ralph Marshall Lepley. He too was in the class of '55. They married in 2001 and moved to Lake Conroe in 2002. Mickie's family grew as she welcomed Marshall's three children, Keith Lepley and husband Wayne, John Lepley and wife Renee, Lori Birdsong and husband  Brent.

Marshall and Mickie have had a wonderful 17 years together where they enjoyed cooking, traveling and sharing time with their 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Mickie not only loved her family but was always thinking of others. One of the last bits of advice she gave was "practice random acts of kindness".
