Kay Michelle Wistrand passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018.
She is survived by her husband, Rod Wistrand, of Tomball; two sons, Ty Wistrand of Des Moines, IA, and Cooper Wistrand of Stephenville, TX; her parents, James and Earlene Beauchamp, of Friendswood, TX; and a sister, Kristen Barton, of Friendswood. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lesli Fisher, of Friendswood.
She was born June 7, 1961, in Temple, TX. She graduated from Temple High School and The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
A beloved teacher in Bartlett I.S.D. and Tomball I.S.D., she had a great love for her students and coworkers.
In her final year at Tomball Jr. High School, students formed an effort to raise money for her to travel to Florida to see baby sea turtles go to sea, to California to step in the Pacific Ocean and hug redwoods, and to Michigan to see the fall foliage.
Mrs. Wistrand's interests included reading, crafts, and following Major League Baseball's Colorado Rockies.
She was a woman of great faith and compassion, and a member of Redeemer Church in Tomball.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 13, at Klein Funeral Home - Tomball, 1400 W. Main, Tomball, TX 77375. A funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 14, at First Baptist Church, 401 Oxford Street, Tomball, TX 77375. A graveside committal service and interment will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday at Salado Cemetery in Salado, TX.
If desired, the family requests memorial donations to the Sarcoma Center of M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
