Michele Ann Hoevet, born on April 24, 1956, passed away at noon on October 10, 2024, after a prolonged and courageous battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. For many years, Michele faced her sickness with determination, but as time went on, the toll became undeniable. Her resilience was remarkable, but even the strongest spirits can falter when the fight is long and relentless. In the end, her exhaustion was a testament to the hard and fierce battle she waged.

Throughout her illness, Michele remained a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, never losing sight of the love she shared with her family. Her husband, Ed, was steadfastly by her side, providing unwavering care and devotion through every challenge. The laughter and connection they shared brought Michele comfort, even as her strength waned, and their love became a source of solace during the hardest days.

Though Michele's journey was marked by moments of despair, it was also filled with the joys she sought out despite her struggles. Known for her quick wit and zest for life, Michele had a fondness for the thrill of gambling, the taste of a good scotch, and the satisfaction of a well-earned cigarette. She approached life with a fearless spirit, unafraid to make mistakes, and always ready to laugh at herself. Her candor about her vices was part of what made her so endearing to those who knew her.

Michele was also immensely proud of her career at Memorial Hermann. She started as a front desk worker and, through sheer determination, rose to become a manager overseeing multiple departments. The bonds she formed with her coworkers lasted long after she retired, reflecting the deep connections she fostered throughout her professional life.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Ed Hoevet; her children, Mary, Shane, and Sean; her grandchildren, Shane Jr., Ryland, and Juliet; her sisters, Paula and Candy; and her brother, Jimmy. Michele was preceded in death by her daughter Colleen. Her stepdaughter, Carrie, whose memory she held close to her heart. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Catherine Davis and Her Father, Jim Davis.

In her final days, Michele's spirit may have wavered, but her love for her family never did. She fought to stay connected with those she cherished, even when the struggle became overwhelming. Her family will remember her not only for her strength but also for the vulnerability she showed, which took its own kind of courage.
