Michele "Mike" D'Argento, born on September 11th, 1945, in Triggiano (Bari), Italy,
returned home on April 27th, 2024.

The youngest of twelve; beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Son.

He immigrated with limited formal education, an unrelenting work ethic from his time at
a marble factory, and a few dollars in his pocket. He immediately joined the Italian soccer club in Chicago, where he would vigorously compete and always play to win. This soccer club hosted a fundraiser to raise funds to help those negatively impacted in Toscana by torrential floods. Little did he know, this act of generosity would be rewarded by the universe, allowing him the chance to meet
his future bride.

They journeyed from Chicago to Los Angeles and settled in Houston. Mike had a
kindred spirit to Texas: Wild, untamed, and a "Come and Take It" if you dare attitude.
Similar to the little brass cannon at the Alamo, a site Mike fiercely respected, he knew
Texas was their new home. He moved into the cargo space and loved aviation. Never one to be satisfied, he wanted more.

He opened two successful businesses, a deli and ultimately a restaurant. Each paying
homage to his roots. He was immensely proud to supply the finest restaurants and hotels, with his imported goods. It was serving his customers, that later became close friends, that he enjoyed the most. He retired from his professional career, where he started, in aviation. Only to spend more time with his family.

Mike had one hobby: being a grandfather. Making them laugh and leaving nuggets of
wisdom along the way. He taught them how to play cards, how to lose, how to swim,
how to grate your own cheese, and everything in between, all while making sure they
learn how to savor it.

The lessons were there if you looked and truly listened.

He was as complicated, as he was simple.

So he lived. And will forever be remembered.
