Michael Thomas Yanchak, age 47, of Magnolia, Texas went to be with the Lord on March 23rd, 2026. He was born on May 14th, 1978 in Houston, Texas to Eugene and Janette Yanchak. Michael will be remembered for his steadfast strength, selflessness, and unconditional love for his family.

Michael began his career with the Houston Police Department on December 3rd, 2001 as a member of Academy Class #180. Michael was assigned to the Central Division until he was catastrophically injured in the line of duty on March 23rd, 2003. He was medically retired from the Houston Police Department on October 14th, 2004. Although his career with the Houston Police Department was cut short, Michael loved serving his community with his fellow officers.

Michael married the love of his life, Tracy Howard on July 28th, 2001. They were blessed with their beautiful daughter Marie. Michael loved sharing his passion for Texas Longhorn football, raising shorthorn cattle, and love of music with Marie. Despite his physical limitations, Michael never missed any of Marie's livestock shows, special events, and proudly celebrated her at every opportunity.

Michael's journey was not without its difficulties, but those moments were a part of, not all of his story. His physical injuries never defined the love and support he gave or the way he touched the lives of family and friends. Michael was a kind spirit, and his quiet reassurance brought comfort and joy to all that knew him.

Michael was a devoted Catholic who loved and served the Lord. Michael always remained positive in the face of challenges, and drew his strength from his Heavenly Father. His passion for spending time outdoors began as a child, spending countless days "up in the country" with family, fishing and being a steward of their land.

Michael is preceded in death by his grandfather Michael John Yanchak, grandmother Margaret Yanchak, grandfather Steve Janik, aunt Joyce Yanchak and uncles Ralph Yanchak, Larry Lanclos and Mike Jones.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Tracy Yanchak, his daughter Marie Yanchak, his parents Eugene and Janette Yanchak, his sister Kristin Yanchak Vance, grandmother Marie Janik, father-in-law Scott Howard, mother-in-law Kathy Howard, sister-in-law Dee Ann Hart, brother-in-law Reese Hart, nieces and nephews: Jacob and Sawyer Vance and Jack and Riley Klingman, aunts and uncles: Jo Ann Lanclos, Carol and Don Thompson, Tina Jones, and numerous cousins: Gina and Bryan, Steven, Matthew, Bryan, Tyler and Bri, and Sarah and Andy, along numerous extended family members and friends including friends and long-time caretakers: Julie Pinto, Maranda Arnett, Leslie Harrison.

The family would like to thank the countless physicians, nurses, and staff that touched Michael's life throughout his journey for their excellent care and endless compassion.

Though his time with us feels far too short, his love will remain in our hearts always. Rest peacefully, Michael. You will be eternally loved, always remembered, and forever missed by all of us.

Visitation will be held at Klein Funeral Home in Magnolia,14711 FM 1488, on Friday, March 27th from 5:00-8:00pm, with rosary being read at 6:00pm.

Michael's Mass of Christian Burial will be observed on Saturday, March 28th at 11:30am at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, in Anderson, 1511 Highway 90 South.
